What. why. how.

In the digital age, visibility and integration are key. Artists with extraordinary vision and talent often remain hidden without the right platform to showcase their work. At Bakehouse, we believe in the power of connection and the importance of being found. Wikipedia serves as a vital tool to raise visibility and enhance the network of artists across the globe.

Project: Bakehouse Art Complex Wikipedia Training Series

The Bakehouse Art Complex partnered with WikiBlueprint Consulting, a team of world-class Wikipedia experts, to launch a comprehensive Wikipedia training series. This initiative was designed to equip artists with the skills needed to interact and integrate with world's largest digital encyclopedia.

What We Did:

  • Virtual Trainings: We engaged artists and arts professionals in a series of live, virtual sessions focused on Wikipedia fundamentals and best practices.

  • 2-Day Intensive Workshop: Participants then took part in a hands-on, immersive two-day workshop to deepen their understanding and skills while writing and improving articles.

What Resulted:

The program fostered a sense of community and collaboration, where participants not only gained competency in Wikipedia editing but also formed bonds and shared experiences. Artists emerged from the training with a greater understanding of how to leverage Wikipedia as a tool to showcase Miami’s vibrant art and artists and connect with a broader global audience.

Funder:

This impactful series was made possible through the generous support of The Knight Foundation, whose commitment to innovation in the arts helped bring this project to life.

Through digital integration, Bakehouse ensures that invisible artists become visible, their stories told, and their legacies preserved for the world to see.
